The Dominican Accreditation Body (ODAC) began a series of free virtual lectures, with the purpose of raising awareness of the importance of accreditation and the impact of multilateral recognition to support national and international trade.
The virtual meeting, which was attended by representatives of laboratories and certification bodies, was given by the president of the Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC), Andrea Melo.
Melo pointed out the importance of the Dominican Republic having international recognition for commercial transactions and for the ecosystem of quality and industrial competitiveness.
The director of ODAC, Angel David Taveras Difo, said that the talk was the first in a series of talks to be given by the Dominican Accreditation Body in order to promote a culture of quality in the Dominican Republic.
In this virtual meeting, they talked about the confidence that accreditation grants as a tool allied to different productive sectors.
The cycle of talks includes topics of impact, such as the importance of accreditation in developing countries, the importance of accreditation for the development of economies; accredited conformity assessment as a differentiating and development factor, the importance of accreditation in the development of public policies, among others.
