President Abinader inaugurates two CAIPIs in Santo Domingo East

The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, inaugurated two Early Childhood Integral Care Centers (CAIPI), in the municipality of Santo Domingo East, to benefit 500 children aged 0 to 5 years old who will receive the services offered by the National Institute for the Integral Care of Early Childhood (INAIPI).

The new centers put into operation are the CAIPI Alma Rosa, located in the Alma Rosa Primera sector and the CAIPI Mirador del Este, in the Isabelita neighborhood.

The President was accompanied by the executive director of INAIPI, Besaida Manola Santana; Ángel Hernández, Minister of Education; Julia Drullard, governor of the province of Santo Domingo; Dío Astacio, mayor of the municipality of Santo Domingo East and Rafael Burgos Gómez, general director of National Assets.

Manola Santana, informed that with these centers, 64 centers have been opened nationwide by the current government administration, as part of the plan to expand services to integrate a significant number of children and families who need the coverage of the care model implemented by INAIPI.

He also said that, with these two, there are now eight centers inaugurated in the municipality of Santo Domingo Este.

He emphasized that in the current management of INAIPI, the quality of the services received by children and families has been strengthened due to the extensive training program, as well as the improvements included in the administrative processes of the entity, among which he cited the obtaining of certification under the international standard ISO 9001:2015.

The ceremony was also attended by deputies Bertico Santana and Amado Díaz, deputies-elect Anny Mambrú and Abelardo Rutinel; as well as Fernando Taveras, director of Buildings of the Ministry of Education; among other officials and invited personalities.

Representing INAIPI were Yanett Rodríguez, deputy director of Institutional Management; Johanna Elías, director of Service Network Management; Quilma Tió, head of the CAIPI Department and Milosi Espinosa, head of the Purchasing and Contracting Department, among other executives.

About the CAIPIs

The Alma Rosa CAIPI will benefit 250 children who reside with their families in the Alma Rosa I, Alma Rosa II and La Cruz de Mendoza sectors.

Meanwhile, in the CAIPI Mirador del Este, another 250 children from Isabelita, Los Mameyes, Villa Duarte, El Pensador and Maquiteria, among others, will receive services.

The children will receive care under the INAIPI Model, focusing on early stimulation and initial education; health and nutrition; attention to special educational needs and disability; protection against violence; birth registration; as well as accompaniment to families and communities.

Interventions also include support and care in homes, strengthening of good parenting practices, support for godparents with children from 0 to 1 year old and high-risk pregnant women, as well as network articulation to guarantee public services.

With the expansion of CAIPI centers and coverage of these services, the government of President Luis Abinader reaffirms its commitment to early childhood and families, especially those living in vulnerable conditions.
