President Abinader, official and business entourage make historic trip to Guyana this Thursday

President Luis Abinader, along with an official and business entourage, will make this Thursday a historic trip to the Cooperative Republic of Guyana to complete a work agenda that includes bilateral meetings and the inauguration of the Dominican Embassy in Guyana, which represents the strengthening of diplomatic relations between the two nations, established since 1970.

The President and his entourage are scheduled to depart in the morning from the International Airport of the Americas “José Francisco Peña Gómez” to the International Airport of Cheddi Jagan.

Among the activities scheduled for the President’s arrival in Guyana is a bilateral meeting with the President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Mohamed Irfaan Ali.

President Abinader, his official and business entourage will also participate in a luncheon to be held at the Arthur Chung Convention Center.

In addition, he will hold a meeting of the official and business delegation of the Dominican Republic with that of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, headed by President Luis Abinader and the Prime Minister of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, in the Main Hall of the Convention Center.

Later, the Head of State will hold a meeting with the Secretary General of the Caribbean Community, Carla Barnett, at the CARICOM headquarters.

Afterwards, they will move to the Pegasus Corporate Center, headquarters of the Dominican embassy, to formally inaugurate the diplomatic headquarters in Guyana.

At the end of the inauguration, President Abinader and his official and business entourage will hold a meeting with the diaspora and will preside over a ceremony in recognition of the Dominican women Leonida Minalla Foo and Gladys Accra, who have served in Guyana.

Later, the head of state and his entourage will participate in a dinner hosted by the President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Mohamed Irfaan Ali at the Government House.

The return of the Dominican President and his companions is scheduled for Friday morning at the José Francisco Peña Gómez International Airport of the Americas.
