Raquel Peña inaugurates works in Monseñor Nouel and Espaillat

The first of the works delivered by the vice president was the resurfacing of the streets of the municipal district of Juan Adrián, which included the reconstruction of 7.00 kilometers of roads, which will have an impact on vehicular traffic and safety conditions in the area.

Later, Raquel Peña, together with the Minister of Public Works and Communications, Deligne Ascencion Burgos, inaugurated the construction and reconstruction of the internal streets of the Palmarito sector.

This intervention covered 5.2 kilometers of roads and is part of the expansion project of the Juan Pablo Duarte highway.

The vice-president also cut the ribbon with which the construction of a gabion wall in Arroyo Toro was officially handed over.

Ascensión Burgos pointed out that the objective of these works is to give dignity to the Dominicans in each community and to invest where the people are, with specific works.

Espaillat

On the other hand, in Espaillat, the Vice-Minister left in operation several electrical works built by Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad del Norte (Edenorte Dominicana).

These include the repowering of the Moca Vieja and Moca Nueva substations and the rehabilitation of networks and lighting in the communities of Monte de la Jagua and Boca Férrea.

These works will benefit close to 40,000 families, with a total investment of RD 231 million.

With the repowering of the Moca Vieja and Moca Nueva substations, Edenorte adds 20 new MVA of power to the transformers. At the Moca Nueva substation it replaced a 30 MVA transformer with a 37 MVA transformer, to provide 7 new megawatts, while at the Moca Vieja substation it replaced a 37 MVA transformer with a 50 MVA transformer, to add 13 megawatts.
