Road infrastructure works for RD$229 million delivered in SDN

The RD$125 million investment for the construction of the Distributor came from what the RDVial trust fund generates from the collection of tolls, said the Minister of Public Works.

With an investment of RD$229 million, President Luis Abinader and the Minister of Public Works, Deligne Ascención, headed this Sunday the ceremony for the delivery of various infrastructure works in La Victoria, San Felipe and Sabana Perdida de Santo Domingo Norte.

The first work to be delivered by the president was the modern traffic distributor in the community of La Victoria which connects with the Santo Domingo North Beltway and will speed up the vehicular traffic in that area and guarantee the notable reduction of accidents and the great economic development for that demarcation.

Minister Deligne Ascensión explained that the access road consisted of the construction of four ramps of 500 meters each, which will give access to the road of La Victoria with the Circunvalación, planned to decongest the traffic in Greater Santo Domingo.

While cutting the ribbon that formally opens the distributor to the public, Ascención assured that “for the municipal district of La Victoria and the neighboring communities, the work that we are delivering today represents an important milestone in the connectivity of the population of a vast region in the north of Greater Santo Domingo”.

He went on to explain “by allowing the incorporation of the vehicular flow to the road circuit, whose main artery embodies the Avenida de Circunvalación, facilitating access to all the municipalities of the extensive urban perimeter of the Capital City.”

By means of this distributor the vehicular flow coming from or going to urban sectors, as densely populated as Sabana Perdida, cGuanuma and Hacienda Estrella, as well as commercial businesses, vacation centers and productive farms will have an easy means of access to the Circunvalación.

The work will serve for the development of these areas, since it will connect with “one of the main and most strategic communication routes that the Dominican Republic has”, said Ascensión, since it has the characteristics of uniting the three regions, two ports and two airports.

“The distributor has been built with an investment of 125 million pesos. The project has four (4) ramps of 550 meters each, which include asphalting, construction of sidewalks and curbs, drainage solutions and special works of safety signaling and orientation to passers-by, respectively,” said Ascención.

He mentioned that together with this work, the asphalting of the streets of Los Arquéanos, in San Felipe de Villa Mella, duly paved and signaled at a cost of 69 million pesos, is being delivered.

Also the works carried out in the asphalting of the streets of one of the most populous sectors of Sabana Perdida, executed with an investment of 35 million pesos.

“All these works have been built fulfilling the promises of President Abinader to provide quality of life to the population of the neighborhoods and communities of the municipality of Santo Domingo Norte. Bringing welfare, citizen security and road safety, decent streets and modern roads to all Dominicans,” said the official.

The RD$125 million investment for the construction of the Distributor came from what the RDVial trust fund generates from the collection of tolls, said the Minister of Public Works.
