Minister of Tourism heads the fourth version of the Heart of Tourism City in Every Corner
Tourism Minister David Collado reiterated this Sunday his commitment to turn Santiago into the tourist destination “it deserves” and said that a plan has been designed in that sense to be executed with all the actors of the province.
“The real time has come for Santiago as a tourist destination. For starters, I inform you that we have already initiated the steps to totally refurbish that symbol of the Heart City, the monument,” said Collado while heading the fourth version of Tourism in Every Corner in the Los Pepines sector of this city.
The activity full of the best classics of son, held on the corner of Cuba and Archille Michell street in this historic and picturesque neighborhood of Los Pepines, was attended by representatives of Mitur and municipal authorities with the presence of hundreds of Santiago residents who danced and enjoyed a varied cultural offer and exhibitions with the most representative of the art, gastronomy and culture of Santiago.
As part of the closing of the event, the colorful characters of the Cibao carnival, the presentation of the merenguero Héctor Acosta, El Torito, and the groups Son Santiaguero and Latin Sound together with the samples of party and “live music” that KEKA’s Son exhibits every Sunday.
The activity was developed thanks to the support of the Cluster Santiago Destino Turístico which works together with Mitur to turn this destination into a City Brand at the tourist level.
The president of the entity, Ramón Paulino thanked the support that Minister David Collado has been offering to Santiago with the announcement of priority works that will make this city take off with all its potential and diversity of history, culture and resources.

It is recalled that, in the last three editions of Tourism in Every Corner, both in the provinces of Hermanas Mirabal, Monseñor Nouel and María Trinidad Sánchez, Minister Collado has left marked the purpose in promoting domestic tourism and inviting Dominicans to know the cultural treasures and tourism potential of each of these localities.
He has also provided for the promotion of several works as has been the case for the province of Hermanas Mirabal, with the announcement of the delivery of one million pesos for the repair of the Ruta de la Ruta de la Ruta de la Trinidad Sanchez.

For Monseñor Nouel, Minister Collado announced the creation of a tourist route to be promoted internationally and the delivery of 100 million pesos for the execution of priority works and the design of a city brand strategy for this Cibao destination.
In Tourism in Every Corner, the Ministry of Tourism has also successfully promoted and relaunched the best of each locality and, as an important step, the integration of the communities, as has been the objective of the initiative officially launched on August 3 of this year, during an event led by President Luis Abinader and Minister Collado.
