Authorities ready for safety operation during Easter break

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) announced its agents are ready to start the safety operation for the Easter break. Among the leading causes of death during Holy Week are traffic accidents, alcohol overdose and drowning.

According to the Emergency Operations Center, the preventive operation will start tomorrow, Palm Sunday, in a first phase that will end on Wednesday, April 4. The second operational phase will begin on Holy Thursday until Easter Sunday.

The safety plan, which is aimed at saving lives and reducing the number of incidents and accidents during the Easter break celebration, will include this year fourteen thousand volunteers and seven ambulances.
