Young Dominicans Will Be Part Of The World Economic Forum

As members of the group The Global Shapers Community

After an intense selection effort which included more than 400 candidates, 24 young Dominican talents were chosen as members of the group The Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum.

The initiative aims to integrate a wider representation from Dominican Republic in the organization’s global level debates on key topics of sustainability and competitiveness among the entity’s countries.

The 24 young adults were introduced to the public by Forum representatives in the country and initiative coordinator, and president of AES Dominicana, Marco De la Rosa; Minister and Executive National Competitiveness Council director Andres Van Der Horst; Dominican Republic Bourse president Darys Estrella, and ARS Humana president Eduardo Cruz, who form part of the community of Young Leaders Global Economic Forum.

The selectees are: Crystal Fiallo, Yulianna Ramon, Mariam Ortiz, Leyla Hernandez, Leritza Monsanto, Laura Castellanos, Elizabeth Mateo, Emilia Diaz, Fanny Then, Christian Cabral, Juan Luis Lozada, Luis Reyes, Pedro Canalda, Maria J. Fernandez, Harold Mateo, Luis David Sena, Joel González P., Rafael Paz, Lisandro Macarrulla, Jose Ignacio Paliza, Jorge Jiménez, Victor Luna, Alfredo Vargas. The selectees are members of a widely diverse and heterogeneous group which represents different areas of the private and public sector sector, academia, politics, among others.

They will form a global community which will participate in high impact initiatives in the search for a better world. The Global Shapers Community will develop its members with the idea that they are the voice of the future in processes of thought at the local, regional and world levels stimulating the entrepreneurial spirit towards the global public interest.

Among the benefits of being the community’s member figure forming part of an important global network of successful leaders, the opportunity to develop leadership qualities through training programs, workshops and mentoring opportunities, to contribute actively in programs that encourage social progress and economic development at the local, regional and global level, and to participate in activities that promote the entrepreneurial spirit.
