The Dominican Republic has been recognized, for the second consecutive year, as the best tourist destination in the Caribbean.
David Collado, Dominican Minister of Tourism, has received in New York two new awards for the Dominican Republic, being recognized as the best destination in the Caribbean and the most family-friendly.
The two distinctions were part of the celebration of the ‘Leisure Travel Award’ and ‘Wherever Awards’, which are given by the Global Traveler media.
The ‘Best Caribbean Island’ award went to the Dominican Republic for the second consecutive year, while it also received recognition as the ‘Best Caribbean Island for Families and Friends’.
In New York, Collado expressed his gratitude for this new recognition, stating that ‘it is the product of the great effort made by the Tourism Cabinet, headed by President Luis Abinader in the recovery of the Dominican Republic after the effects of the pandemic’.
The Ministry of Tourism has informed that ‘these recognitions join a series of awards that the country has received abroad both in terms of tourism recovery and in merits for being the best tourist destination in the region’.
