Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona, executive vice president of the National Council for Change and Constitutional President of the Dominican Republic, participated this Tuesday morning in the opening of the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) at its headquarters in New York City.

The Dominican president arrived at the UN headquarters at 8:50 a.m. accompanied by the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Álvarez; Administrative of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza and the Dominican ambassador to the United Nations, José Blanco.

The opening of the assembly began with the words of UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres; the president of Brazil, Jaír Bolsonaro; and the president of the United States, Joe Biden.

While, in the continuation of his agenda in this city, President Abinader has scheduled bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Guatemala, Alejandro Eduardo Giammattei and Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso.

Later, at 12:30 noon he will have another bilateral meeting with the executive secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Alicia Bárcena.
