CEMEX Dominicana reported today that it expects to reactivate line 1 of its San Pedro de Macorís plant in order to increase its active clinker production capacity by more than 500,000 metric tons per year, implementing state-of-the-art technologies to improve efficiency and remain aligned with international environmental standards.
The planned reactivation of line 1, currently scheduled for the last quarter of 2021, is part of CEMEX Dominicana’s growth plan, seeking to strengthen the capacity to respond to the demand of the local market, as well as that of the export market. and maintaining its firm commitment to the quality of service it provides to the Caribbean construction sector.
“At CEMEX Dominicana we reiterate our commitment to the sustainable development of the Dominican Republic, in the context of boosting the national economy, seeking with these investment plans to reduce the need for imports, strengthen local industry and contribute to the generation of employment in the country, ”said José Antonio Cabrera, CEO of CEMEX Dominicana.
Currently, CEMEX Dominicana supplies more than two million metric tons of cement and clinker to the Dominican and export markets, whose capacity is expected to increase with the reactivation plans for line 1.
