Dominican Republic receives Brazilian investors interested in renewable energy

Brazilian businessmen interested in investing in alternative energy projects in the Dominican Republic paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Energy and Mines, where they held a meeting with its main officials.

Minister Antonio Almonte was accompanied by the Vice Minister of Energy, Rafael Gómez, the Vice Minister of Hydrocarbons and Chief of Staff, Walkiria Caamaño and the Director of International Relations, Gustavo Mejía-Ricart.

Meanwhile, the delegation of the Brazil-Dominican Republic Chamber of Commerce was composed of its president, Dr. Joao Paulo Todde Nogueira, the legal director, Erico Rodolfo Abreu de Oliveira and the general secretary, Paola Vasconcelos Comin de Jesus.

Mr. Rafael Trinidad, Minister Counselor of the Dominican Embassy, represented Ambassador Patricia Villegas, and explained that it was a courtesy visit to explore areas of investment and possible technical advice to various institutions in the country.

Dr. Todde Nogueira expressed interest in presenting the Dominican authorities with an offshore wind energy project and the possibility of signing a collaboration agreement between the Ministries of Energy of both countries.
