Entrepreneurs interested investing renewable energy projects

The Minister of Energy and Mines (MEM), Antonio Almonte, received a courtesy visit from Frank Lowenstein and Maria Vorobiera, representatives of the multinational company SkyPower Global, which is interested in promoting renewable energy projects in the Dominican Republic.

Engineer Almonte, accompanied by the Vice Minister of Energy, Engineer Rafael Gómez Del Giudice, listened to the explanations of the representatives of the aforementioned company, which has extensive experience in the solar energy sector, generating more than 25 gigawatts worldwide.

Lowenstein explained that the company has more than 30 power purchase agreements (PPas) with several governments and public institutions, and that its interest is to know the potential and needs of the Dominican Republic in order to promote future investment projects.

SkyPower’s interest is to develop, finance, build and operate 300 MW of utility-scale solar photovoltaic projects, generating accessible, efficient and affordable energy for the Dominican Republic.

Minister Almonte and Vice Minister Gómez were joined by advisor Viriato Sánchez and Ms. Helen Pérez, from MEM’s International Relations Directorate.

Lowenstein joined SkyPower Global as Vice President of Intelligence and Global Government Relations, and from this position mobilizes private sector action to accelerate a sustainable energy transition in emerging markets.
