U.S. investors set their interest in the DR

President Luis Abinader received this Thursday virtually the Dominican ambassador to the United States, Sonia Guzman, who led a trade mission of U.S. companies.

The companies SkyPower Global, Temple Allen Industries and Ridge Partners Línea Noroeste, present at the meeting, had the opportunity to explain to President Abinader their projects and the benefits in jobs and generation of opportunities that they could bring to the Dominican Republic.

Ambassador Guzman introduced the companies, highlighting their mission to communicate among U.S. investors the actions of the Dominican Government to strengthen the stability and democratic transparency, the independence of the Public Ministry and the opening of business opportunities and competitive advantages offered by the country.

Also present at the meeting were the Vice-Minister for Economic Affairs and Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hugo Rivera Fernández, and the commercial team of the Dominican Embassy in Washington, D.C.

In this way, Ambassador Guzman explained, the United States and the Dominican Republic continue to strengthen their commercial ties through investments, in this case exploring areas of growth in the aeronautical sector and energy production, which could culminate in transactions of up to approximately one billion dollars.

President Abinader reiterated the importance of job creation in the country and highlighted the policies implemented to improve conditions for investments, including the creation of the Investment Promotion Cabinet headed by Vice President Raquel Peña.

SkyPower Global, with a recognized international presence, presented a project for the local manufacture of solar panels and generation of up to 500 megawatts of energy, identifying Pedernales as the ideal geographical area for such investment.

Temple Allen Industries expressed interest in regionalizing part of its operations from the Dominican Republic, taking advantage of the country’s nearshoring conditions. The company manufactures aerospace ergonomic equipment for large multinational aerospace companies such as Boeing, Airbus, Gulfstream, Lockheed, Embraer, as well as NASA, the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy.

Ridge Partners Línea Noroeste, which recently signed a concession contract with the Dominican State for the production of diesel fuel from the use of waste and solid waste, presented its plans to expand into other regions of the country. The company will soon begin construction of a recycling plant in Valverde province, which will produce around two million gallons per month of synthetic fuel for export.
