Colomé leads in points National Basketball League

Jeison Colomé, the well-known player who has the dorsal number two on his jacket with the Cañeros del Este and who is nicknamed “Mozart”, “la avioneta del este”, “la locomotora”, among other nicknames, is having a great season worthy of a more valuable player.

Colomé has played in every Cañeros game and his importance on the court is vital for the orange club. He is an exciting player, who makes the fans who have the pleasure of watching him vibrate with emotions.

He scored 273 points this season, averaging 21 per game, making him the leader in the most important department in any basketball tournament. He surpassed veteran players in the League, who are born scorers such as Gerardo Suero (206 – 20.6), Juan Miguel Suero (257 – 18.4), Juan Guerrero (222 – 17.1) and Eloy Vargas (196 – 16.3).

This year he has been impressive wearing the Cañeros jersey with very robust numbers to be considered MVP of the best league played in the Dominican Republic. Colomé averaged 21 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 13 regular season games.

In each of his games he scored 10 or more points and was an important offensive piece for Cañeros along the way to the standings. Defensively, “Mozart’s” intensity was reflected, finishing second in steals in the league with 2.2 steals.
