Peru could not beat Serbia in the U18 Women’s Volleyball World Championship

The Peruvian National Volleyball Team was unable to defeat Serbia in the round of 16 of the U18 Women’s Volleyball World Championship and fell 1-3 with scores of 13-25, 21-25, 25-17 and 25-15.

The European team started the match with a lot of rhythm and quickly imposed their conditions on the Mexican court. The Serbians were very solid in attack and won the first set 25-13.

Peru started winning the second set and battled hard with Serbia during the first minutes, however, after 16-16, the Balkan team took control of the match and won 25-21.

In the third set, the team coached by Gina Torrealva, wounded in their pride, imposed their conditions and took the set with a difference of eight points (25-17).

However, Serbia found their game again in the fourth set and were quickly on their way to victory. So much so that they took the set with a comfortable 25-15.

For the round of 16 of the U18 Women’s Volleyball World Championship, the Peruvian National Team will face Serbia this Sunday at 14:00 Peruvian time (19:00 GMT). The Bicolor will have a tough task, hoping to give the blow against a favorite rival, who finished first in Group A.

In that sense, the team coached by Gina Torrealva will have to leave behind their last three performances in the tournament, where they lost to Turkey (3-0), Dominican Republic (3-1) and Italy (3-0), respectively. They are also looking to repeat their performance, which they did manage to beat in the preliminary phase of Group B.

For its part, Serbia wants to continue showing what it is made of and prove that its leadership in the other Group was no coincidence. And the fact is that out of four presentations, our opponent on this occasion did a perfect job and scored 11 points.
