Peru lost 3-0 to Italy in the last date of the U18 Women’s Volleyball World Championship

In the last day of Group B of the U18 Women’s Volleyball World Championship, the Peruvian National Team lost this Friday 3 sets to 0 with Italy in the city of Durango, Mexico. La Bicolor tried to put up a fight, but it was not enough and will have to wait for the result of Egypt vs Dominican Republic.

The team coached by Gina Torrealva started a hard-fought first set. In that aspect, the national team was able to recover from up to five points down and put the rival in trouble, however, ended up being defeated 25-21.

The second set was even more hard fought and Peru was able to get up from the start. Thus, they managed to demand more than the account to Italy, who had to appeal to their defensive order, one of their highest points, to finally win again but this time, by a tight 25-23.

For the last game, the ‘Blanquirroja’ was the first to bet their last cards. Unfortunately, this was not enough for the score to end with a 25-19 and a definitive 3-0 in favor of the Italian team.

With this result, the Peruvian National Team will have to wait for the Dominican Republic to beat Egypt and thus be among the four teams that advance to the next stage of the U18 Women’s Volleyball World Championship.
