Jay Wheeler stepped on stage at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center’s Volleyball Pavilion at 10:15 p.m. for the first performance of his show in Santo Domingo as part of his “Trappii Tour”.
The Puerto Rican artist came on stage with a balaclava singing “Trappii”, which belongs to his penultimate album of the same name, from which he also performed “Throwback”, to continue with the ‘romantiqueo’ that characterizes him with songs like “Otro más”, “Se reveló” and “Eatz”.
Wheeler also shared the stage with his first guest, Venezuelan balladeer Noreh, with whom he duetted the hits “Lugar seguro”, “Maquillaje” and “Multiverso”.
From the country, in addition to the participation of Mark B as opening act, Chris Lebrón also performed with Jay Wheeler with his collaboration “Desde mis ojos (remix)”.
Despite having been hospitalized on Thursday, which is why Friday’s performance was postponed to Sunday, Jay Wheeler gave his all in front of thousands of young people, who enjoyed a journey through his albums “Emociones”, “Trappii” and “Música buena para días malos”. Likewise, he explained the absence of his wife, Zhamira Zambrano, since she is in the eighth month of her pregnancy and had to stay at home resting.
“The doctor said not to go out anywhere, well I listened to the doctor, but I came back to you, strong (ovation). I say strong, but I’m really well married, but for you we are going to give it everything,” Wheeler said.
“Díselo”, ‘No confió’, ‘Dime que sí’, ‘Fantasía’ and ‘Pacto’ were also part of the show that lasted until 12:20 midnight and was loaded with pyrotechnics, fireworks and a spectacular scenery that simulated a neighborhood.
A SAD MOMENT
During the evening, Jay Wheeler stopped his concert to address the friends of a fan who lost her life at the hands of a man.
Wheeler appreciated the young women’s strength after losing their loved one and asked to meet them backstage.
“I thought I was strong, but you guys are stronger than me,” he said.
