Face-to-face fashion shows to return to Paris in July

Paris will once again hold face-to-face fashion shows in July, the calendar’s organizer, the Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion, which has been unable to host catwalks since last September due to the pandemic, announced Tuesday.

“The firms of the official calendar will be able to hold runway shows and presential presentations. Depending on the evolution of the health situation, it will be possible to welcome guests respecting the capacity and a specific health protocol established by the public authorities,” said the Federation.

This would be the first on-site catwalk in months: last September only a few brands were able to organize fashion shows, but in January and March the men’s, women’s and Haute Couture presentations took place exclusively online.

This time, the fashion shows, which will take place between July 5 and 8, will continue to be broadcast on the Internet through the Federation’s web platform, as well as on the networks of the various brands.

The Federation’s announcement only referred to the Haute Couture autumn-winter 2021 collections, but not to the men’s ready-to-wear for spring-summer 2022, which take place a week earlier, from June 22 to 27, and will in principle maintain the digital format.

The official calendar will be published on June 7 and it will feature brands such as Christian Dior, Chanel, Givenchy, Maison Margiela, Alexandre Vauthier, Schiaparelli, Balenciaga, which will debut in Haute Couture, Elie Saab and Fendi Couture, among others.
