First edition of the Ibero-American Fashion Awards in DR

For the first time in history, the most outstanding Latin American fashion talents in the world will be honored during the Latin American Fashion Awards.

Casas del XVI hosts the prestigious Latin American Fashion Awards, an innovative project that celebrates Latin American talent in the fashion industry, which in its first edition has chosen the country as its main stage. Casas del XVI reaffirms its commitment to the positioning of the Colonial City, this time focusing on the orange economy and the design and fashion industry, while promoting the development of the destination as a stage for art and culture, promoting its dynamism and generating a positive impact on the revaluation of the Colonial City.

Meanwhile, the long-awaited first edition of the Latin American Fashion Awards will land in the Dominican Republic on November 4, 2023. The announcement comes from the hand of its co-founders, Constanza Etro and Silvia Argüello, who after three years of extensive work, unveil the unprecedented project that celebrates Latin American talent in the fashion industry, both established and emerging, internationally.

A biennial Fashion and Culture project that provides a global platform for the promotion of the best Latin American talent and the development of the Orange Economy in the region. With the participation of more than twenty countries and two strategic venues, the Dominican Republic and Milan, the Awards Ceremony will honor the work of outstanding designers, brands, models, photographers, directors and more. The Latin American Fashion Awards will be an established cultural landmark on the global fashion calendar bringing together industry experts and trendsetters to acclaim the rich cultural heritage with a contemporary perspective.

Its mission is to honor the region’s cultural heritage, celebrate diversity and inclusion, and reinforce the future of the most outstanding Latin American talent making a difference in the fashion industry.

International Jury:

To establish the authority of the Latin American Fashion Awards and amplify the global visibility of its participants, the Prestigious Jury will be comprised of expert Latin American and international figures, renowned fashion editors and celebrities. The Jury will be revealed on March 23, 2023 in the city of Milan, the capital of Italian fashion.

About the Latin American Fashion Awards

From November 2-5, 2023, the celebrations that make up the awards event will take place between the prestigious Casa de Campo and Puntacana Resort & Club resorts in the Dominican Republic. The Awards will open at the historic private villa of celebrated Dominican designer Oscar de la Renta at Puntacana Resort & Club.

On Saturday, November 4, 2023, the Awards Ceremony will be held at the iconic Altos de Chavón Amphitheater in Casa de Campo. In addition to the announcement of the winners and their speeches, the event will feature a musical performance by renowned Latin American artists to be announced soon.

Constanza Etro

Considered “One of the Most Influential Women in the Fashion Industry” by Forbes Italia magazine, successful entrepreneur and inspiring human being, Constanza is passionate about film, fashion, young talents and sustainability. Born in Buenos Aires and based in Milan, she is founder and CEO since 2014 of the Fashion Film Festival Milano, an international Fashion and Culture event where names such as Giorgio Armani, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Luca Guadagnino, Margherita Missoni and Marcelo Burlon, among others, participate. Silvia Argüello

With more than 20 years of experience in the fashion industry between Paris and Milan, Silvia is the founder and former creative director of the Rosa Clandestino brand, and has received numerous awards for her fashion consultancies, social projects and haute couture designs. Among others, the prestigious “Who’s on Next” award from Vogue Italia, the “Fashion Freedom for Africa” project of the United Nations for the emancipation of African women in Kenya “, The “Pelle Italiana” exhibition at the famous Triennale design museum in Milan and The World of Alcantara” in the city of Los Angeles.
