In a new booking system update, it has been noted that Aerolíneas Argentinas will increase its flights to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, for the 2024/25 summer season.
The airline will add new frequencies from Cordoba and Buenos Aires/Ezeiza; and will incorporate two unpublished routes departing from Tucuman and Rosario.
The update comes a week after Arajet replaced its daily flight from Santo Domingo/Las Americas with Punta Cana-Buenos Aires as of October 28, 2024.
According to the airline’s website, between November and December it would raise its weekly flights from Buenos Aires/Ezeiza from 4 to 5, which it would then increase to 6 per week (every day except Sundays) between January and March. Operations will be maintained with Airbus A330-200 with capacity for 269 passengers.
On the other hand, from Cordoba, it will resume operations on September 13, 2024 with 2 weekly flights, which between January and March 2025 will increase to 4. Flights to Punta Cana will offer connections to other points in the interior of Argentina and will be operated with Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft for 170 passengers.
Finally, between January and March 2025, Aerolíneas Argentinas will have a weekly flight from Tucumán and Rosario. Both destinations will operate with Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
In total, the airline will offer twelve weekly flights between Argentina and the Dominican Republic, providing a capacity of 5,268 seats per week in the summer season.
Although the company is already advertising on its website, tickets are not yet on sale.
It is recalled that Aerolíneas Argentinas offers direct flights to Punta Cana. In the last semester of 2024, the airline mobilized 44,365 passengers with an occupancy rate of 97%, according to ANAC Argentina. The data highlights the existing demand to one of the most popular destinations in the Caribbean.
