Russia eliminates air restrictions with DR for scheduled and charter flights

Russian authorities announced on Monday the removal of all restrictions on the air flow between Russia and the Dominican Republic for regular and charter flights. The decision was announced through the Russian Operational Office for the Control of Coronavirus, headed by the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Tatiana Golikova.

This measure will allow Russian airlines to access our country to offer their services to tourist destinations such as Punta Cana, Samaná and Puerto Plata, as they do in La Romana, open since August 9, following a decree of the main Russian body for the management of the pandemic.

The Dominican ambassador to Russia, Hans DannenbergCastellanos, explained that the decision has been taken on the basis of the epidemiological situation in the country.

“This shows that the Russian authorities appreciate the progress in the management of the pandemic and the Dominican National Vaccination Plan,” he said.

Likewise, the diplomat highlighted that currently, together with the Dominican Republic, only two other nations in the world have totally unrestricted air traffic with the Russian Federation.

Dannenberg Castellanos took the opportunity to thank both the Russian Government and the different levels of the Dominican State, who after months of hard work have made possible the total reopening of flights.

Important Russian media have echoed, since early this morning, this news that has been received with pleasure by the Russian audience and travelers eager to visit the Dominican Republic.
