Summer vacations boost visitor arrivals through AILA

After the arrival of the vacations, at the José Francisco Peña Gómez International Airport of the Americas (AILA), the flow of visitors from the largest issuing market to the Dominican Republic, the United States, is increasing.

The peculiarity is that the arrival of children and adolescents, accompanied by their parents and other relatives, who have finished the school season, to enjoy their summer vacations in the country, is increasing.

It has been possible to establish that more than 30% of the occupancy of the commercial flights coming from New York, Miami, Boston, Atlanta and other North American cities, also from San Juan, Puerto Rico and European nations, according to Listín Diario.

Because of this, the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) has expanded its staff in its offices to meet the demand for services on the occasion of the summer.
