The Government allocated 300 million pesos to subsidize fuels with the intention of keeping prices unchanged for the period from Saturday, August 24 to Friday, August 30.
In this way, increases that would have ranged from five pesos per gallon in the case of propane gas to 15 pesos in the case of regular gasoil were avoided.
“This effort represents a sacrifice of close to 300.7 million, aimed at not transferring international price hikes to consumers. Our ongoing work is based on constant observation and analysis of the international market. Despite the challenges imposed by variations in the energy markets, we remain firm in our mission to protect Dominican families and guarantee equitable access to fuels” said the Vice Minister of Domestic Trade, Ramón Pérez Fermín.
