Ibero-American Academy of Gastronomy recognizes DR Minister of Tourism

Within the framework of the FITUR 2023 International Tourism Fair, which is being held at IFEMA Madrid until January 20, the Ibero-American Academy of Gastronomy (AIBG) presented an award to the Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, His Excellency David Collado.

It was announced that during the last assembly of the AIBG, held last December, a nomination proposed by the Dominican Academy of Gastronomy was unanimously approved to recognize Collado for his work in promoting tourism in the country in close collaboration with the Dominican Academy of Gastronomy.

At the meeting, Rafael Ansón, president of the AIBG, recalled that gastronomy is the second motivation for choosing a tourist destination and expressed special thanks to the Dominican minister for his support and encouragement for the development of this second motivation in his country.

He also praised the Dominican Republic and its gastronomy academy, which he said is probably the best functioning among the academies in Ibero-America today.

The Dominican Republic expressed its gratitude for this recognition, as well as for the efforts being made in the country to promote and defend gastronomy, seen as the indivisible connector between the people who visit that nation.
