Opening cocktail party for the 2nd Latin American Digital Health Congress in the Dominican Republic

The Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos, and actors from the health and technology sectors and personalities from the business and social spheres attended the opening ceremony.

Santo Domingo, September 6, 2022 – With a cocktail led by the Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos and the organizers of the congress, Fedor Vidal, CEO of Arium Digital Health, and Amelia Reyes Mora, president of AF Comunicación Estratégica, the opening of the 2nd Latin American Digital Health Congress took place.

The opening ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mescyt), Franklin García Fermín, the vice ministers Eladio Pérez of Collective Health, and José David Montilla of Digital Agenda.II Congreso Salud Digital RD

The activity began with words of welcome from Reyes Mora, who pointed out that the last pandemic put a foot on the accelerator for digital transformation in all spheres, and in particular, in the health sector. At the same time, she thanked the 50 companies and institutions that supported the holding of the congress.

The also vice-president of the Dominican Association of Health Tourism (ADTS), pointed out that the public relations firm, AF Comunicación Estratégica, collaborates to make a better world, and that is the greatest motivation to actively participate in initiatives that seek to promote digital transformation in the health sector, such as this congress.

Afterwards, Vidal, an international expert in technology and digital transformation in the healthcare sector, thanked all those present for being protagonists in the digitization of the healthcare sector. “Today we are opening our second edition, The Road to Comprehensive Digital Transformation, a title that clearly reflects where we are, and will mark the roadmap of how to drive the digitization of the sector in the coming years in the country.”

During the cocktail, Vidal also highlighted the achievements reached by Arium Digital Health in the past three years. “We feel very satisfied with the road we have traveled in this relatively short time as a leading company in healthcare digitalization. To date, we have carried out millions of electronic health transactions and almost half a million electronic records, all achieved with first level local talent, available to be exported to the world”.

He also informed that the company Arium Salud Digital has the projection for 2023 of doubling the millions of patients in its digital platforms, and foresees that they will be working on proof of concepts for blockchain projects, artificial intelligence and predictive analysis of population health.

As part of the congress, Fedor Vidal and Magdalena Rathe, president and founder of Fundación Plenitud and technical advisor of the Social Security Observatory (OSES), will present the results of the First Digital Health Study of the Dominican Republic, an initiative and contribution of Arium Salud Digital, carried out by OSES and (Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo) INTEC.

The congress will present three keynote lectures and seven expert panels, made up of representatives from different entities of the Health and Technology sector. International experts from Argentina, Costa Rica, Colombia, Guatemala, the United States, Mexico and Puerto Rico will join the local executives.

The opening cocktail party, in addition to government representatives, was attended by players from the health and technology sectors and personalities from the business and social spheres.
