The Ministry of Defense (MIDE) and the construction consortium Andrade Gutiérrez and Haycivilca signed an agreement to finance and build the San Miguel Military Hospital and polyclinics of the National Army; the Chief of Staff of the Army of the Dominican Republic, a sports center and hangars. The buildings will be constructed in different parts of the country where there are military units.
The agreement will not only benefit the active and passive military contingent and their dependents, but also the inhabitants of the surrounding areas where the project will be built, guaranteeing the health and socioeconomic development of the surrounding population, considering the guarantee of access and protection of health.
With this agreement, the new infrastructures will be destined to serve both the Armed Forces and the civilian population, providing advanced medical care and improving the country’s health and military infrastructures.
The document, signed in the meeting room of the MIDE, was signed by the Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa, ERD, and Mr. Carlos Cabrera Zambrana and Mr. Sergio Tettamanti.
This infrastructure will be an advanced medical care center with state-of-the-art technology, improving the quality of health services available to the Armed Forces and the civilian population.
The additional military facilities will strengthen the operational and response capacity of the Dominican Armed Forces, contributing to the security and well-being of the country.
The Armed Forces remain committed to the development of projects that not only benefit their soldiers and their immediate families, but also society in general. These efforts include health and welfare, education, housing and social support programs, which not only improve the quality of life of those who serve, but also contribute to the progress and stability of the nation.
