Between 270 and 300 children are born each year in the country with cleft lip and palate, requiring reconstructive surgeries and continuous comprehensive therapies. The foundation “Operation Smile” Dominican Republic has operated on more than 1,469 patients between 25 international missions and 3 national missions and has offered more than 5,000 consultations within its programs of integral consultations in nutrition, pediatrics, speech therapy, psychology and dentistry.
The foundation provides free safe reconstructive surgeries and comprehensive treatment, with professional excellence, to low-income people with cleft lip and/or palate malformations in the Dominican Republic.
Bancamerica has placed its digital platforms, Internet Banking and APP, at the service of the non-profit organization, implementing a “Donations” module so that users and customers of the bank can make their contributions from their savings or checking accounts easily and securely, thus collaborating in the support of the programs developed by Operation Smile in the country.
“Our institution has wanted to participate in the work that Operation Smile has been doing for so many years in the Dominican Republic, through which hundreds of children in vulnerable conditions have been operated on for mouth malformations, giving them back their smile and joy of life. Through this agreement, we hope that these programs can be strengthened with contributions from generous individuals and institutions that care about the future of our children,” said Giacomo Giannetto, executive president of Bancamerica.
To facilitate the contributions of institutions and individuals who collaborate in the support of the programs developed by Operation Smile in the country, Bancamerica has made available the various channels of the bank through which such aid can be made feasible.
