Dominican health tourism has been consolidating as part of the country’s brand and export offer, and with this, synergies continue to be added in favor of offering new technologies and modern infrastructures to continue its growth.
In this sense, Médico Express and Caribbean Health TPA signed an inter-institutional agreement to promote medical tourism and telemedicine.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, CEO of Médico Express, and Dr. Rodolfo Núñez-Musa, medical director of Caribbean Health, who informed that the agreement includes the provision of diagnostic services, emergencies, specialized consultations, outpatient surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, orthopedics, pediatrics, endoscopy, among others, through the international department of Médico Express San Isidro.
They affirmed that “medical tourism is an activity that has been getting stronger year after year in the RD, given the quality and commitment to the processes of local qualification and international accreditation of the member centers of the Dominican Association of Health Tourism (ADTS)”.
Thousand patient cases
Meanwhile, Núñez Musa informed that, during the past year, the company facilitated the treatment in the RD of approximately one thousand cases of patients from Turks and Caicos, Saint Martin, Bahamas and other Caribbean islands.
He added that, as a strategy for remote attention, patient recruitment and follow-up, they have established their Collaborative Telemedicine Centers (CTC) in the Caribbean, providing assistance and second medical opinions in which Médico Express will also collaborate.
Médico Express San Isidro is an innovative outpatient health center, designed under international standards, which offers high quality medical services to the local population and tourists.
Meanwhile, Caribbean Health is a company whose main objective is to attract patients from the Caribbean islands to receive specialized medical care in the country.
