SNS delivers medical equipment to six health centers

As part of its ongoing commitment to improving health care for the population, the National Health Service (SNS) delivered transducers to six establishments on Thursday, an initiative in line with President Luis Abinader’s commitment to ensure the health of Dominicans.

The Hospital Route began at the Nuestra Señora de La Altagracia Municipal Hospital, located in Villa Altagracia, where Dr. Mario Lama, head of the SNS, delivered a 21-liter tabletop autoclave, two refrigerators, one for a 14-cubic-foot laboratory and one for medicines; as well as a three-transducer ultrasound machine with thermal printer and UPS, with an investment of RD 1,221,010.38.

During his visit, Lama also reviewed the progress of the remodeling of the Emergency Room of the Villa Altagracia Municipal Hospital, a project which will significantly improve the conditions of care, with a modern and properly equipped space.

Likewise, the director of the SNS highlighted the advances in the Public Network, stating: “In the last four years we have delivered to the Dominican population some 55 refurbished and equipped hospitals, in addition to around 600 Primary Care Centers, significantly strengthening the country’s healthcare infrastructure”.

Later, the equipment day moved to the Hospital Doctor Rodolfo de la Cruz Lora, where a neonatal echocardiograph, valued at almost 7 million pesos, was delivered.

Meanwhile, the Center for Primary Health Care of the General Command of the Army, Camp 16 de Agosto, in Pedro Brand, was provided with various equipment, including portable secretion aspirators, ambus, a crash cart, oxygen tanks, trays, electrocardiographs, laryngoscopes, nebulizers, sphygmomanometers, autoclaves, glucometers, wheelchairs, transport stretchers, beds, monitors, position chairs and metallic chairs, among others, for an amount of 2. 8 million pesos.

Likewise, the Hospital Doctor Francisco Moscoso Puello received a tray of neurology instruments, a three-transducer ultrasound and a medium-sized electric sterilizer, with an investment of RD 1,862,905.22.

Meanwhile, the Hospital Traumatológico Doctor Darío Contreras was provided with seven adult-pediatric ventilators, valued at more than 4 million pesos, thus completing the equipment of its 21 intensive care beds.

Finally, the Armed Forces Reserve Medical Specialties Center received two 12-lead electrocardiographs, two wall diagnostic sets and a three-transducer ultrasound, with a total investment of RD 1,540,317.17.
