The Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, received this afternoon at the Palacio de Cibeles a delegation from the Dominican Republic headed by its President Luis Abinader, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic in Spain, Juan Bolívar, and the Ambassador of Spain in the Dominican Republic, Antonio Pérez-Hernández. The Dominican President is visiting Spain on the occasion of the celebration of the International Tourism Fair 2022, which takes place in Madrid from January 19 to 23.
During the reception, which was attended by the Deputy Mayor, Begoña Villacís; the Delegate Councilor for Tourism, Almudena Maíllo; the Delegate Councilor for Internationalization and Cooperation, Santiago Saura, and representatives of the municipal groups, Abinader signed in the Golden Book of the Madrid City Hall.
Afterwards, the President of the Dominican Republic held a meeting with the Mayor of Madrid. The visit concluded with a walking tour of the Latin American leader and the mayor to the Cibeles Fountain, which today and tomorrow will be illuminated with the colors of the Dominican flag in honor of this country, guest of Fitur in this edition.
