Bancos Popular, BHD and Reserva recognize David Collado

They highlighted the contributions and efforts of the official to guarantee the sustainable growth of the sector.

The three main commercial banks of the Dominican Republic recognized the outstanding work carried out by David Collado as Minister of Tourism for achieving extraordinary records in the sector.

As part of the celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the Dominican Association of Hotels and Tourism, Banco Popular, Banco BHD and Banco Reservas recognized the work of Minister Collado for his dedication and commitment to the tourism sector, which contributes more than 15% of the Gross Domestic Product to the economy.

“For his dedication and commitment in his management of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic,” reads the plaque of recognition presented by representatives of the banks to the official.

Minister Collado expressed his gratitude for the distinction and reiterated his commitment to continue promoting the sustained development recorded in tourism during his administration.

“I humbly receive this recognition and I extend it to the members of the Tourism Cabinet, because the achievements and success belong to everyone,” said Collado.

He expressed that in addition to his work, each record achieved, such as the arrival of 10 million visitors, is the fruit of the joint effort of the public and private sectors.

Collado highlighted the contribution of banks to the development of tourism, since they have specialized portfolios for the sector.

He pointed out that part of the development of the industry is due to the financing of the national banks to the tourism industry.

The Dominican Republic has just had the best year in the history of tourism in 2023 with the arrival of 10,306 thousand visitors and it is expected that by the end of this year 11,500 thousand visitors will arrive in the country.

Dominican Banking headed by Banco Popular, Banco de Reservas and BHD started with a strong backing the recovery in 2020 with financing to the sector and above all, backing and sponsoring the most important fairs in the world of tourism.
