Dominican Republic and Mexico among the favorite destinations for Argentine travelers

Alejandro Beracochea, operator of La Calle Agency, in Argentina, said that the most requested Caribbean destinations are Cancun or Playa del Carmen, in Mexico, and Punta Cana or Bayahibe in the Dominican Republic, according to Arecoa.

“When the pre-trade ended, the purchase of flights abroad started to move, although there is also a tendency to travel to the Caribbean, especially with packages of 7 or 10 days,” Beracochea pointed out.

In the case of the United States, he said that the classic Miami-Disney-New York trio is still popular among locals, according to ElDia.com.

He indicated that the most requested flights within Europe are to Spain, Italy and France, and recently Turkey (which is usually combined with Greece) has gained some prominence due to the launching of promotions by the country’s airline company. Tickets to any of these destinations cost around 250,000 pesos.

“Slowly the season is increasing. It started with the Caribbean, which had almost no restrictions; it continued with Europe, where today logically only to countries away from the conflict; and with the news about vaccination, the United States is also starting to reactivate,” said Fabián Latanzzio, vice president of the Argentine Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism (AAAVyT).

“Although we are far from 2019, the level of reservations is slowly growing,” he added.
