The Cabinet of Tourism has presented and started the works of the Plan of Tourist Territorial Reorganization of this destination of the Eastern region.
Bayahibe (Dominican Republic) will soon have 500 hotel rooms and a recovery of its beach for the tourist use. The Cabinet of Tourism presented and started the works of the Plan of Tourist Territorial Reorganization of this destination of the East region.
Among the works to be started are the construction of parking lots, an artisans’ square, a baseball field and a curial house, among other facilities. We will also proceed to the conditioning of the maritime front and the installation of a public wharf to, among other functions, put order to the activity of numerous tourist boats which travel from Bayahíbe towards Saona Island and Catalina Island.
Other contemplated infrastructures are the rehabilitation of the zone of the bus parking, a park with eyes of water up to the point of the viewpoint, which includes a forest with flower and sign of Bayahíbe. The construction of a new parking lot and the extension of the bus parking lot will be initiated, on a land which will be donated by Central Romana Corporation LTD.
“We are going to have a more organized Bayahíbe, which is going to develop in a sustainable way, which will be able to come tourists who will not necessarily occupy hotels and will come in an organized way, they will come in a correct infrastructure”, the president of Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, has emphasized.
For his part, the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, explained that Bayahibe will be an example for the country and at the international level in order, organization, safety and development.
