Iberostar Beachfront Resorts renovates its hotel in Bayahibe

Iberostar Beachfront Resorts announces the reopening of the Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus hotel in Bayahibe, Dominican Republic, after a complete renovation of its 528 rooms and most of its facilities, which has been executed throughout 2022.

This 5-star all-inclusive family resort with colonial architecture, which opened its doors in 2001, has 3 swimming pools, 5 restaurants, 6 bars, theater, gym, Sensations spa, Star Café, Star Prestige and Star Camp for children and youth. The hotel is located 20 minutes from La Romana airport (LRM) and 50 minutes from Punta Cana airport (PUJ), and offers a complete structure for fully customized weddings and corporate events.

Among the main refurbishment works, the renovation of one of the pools to include a new bubble pool and lobby bar stands out. Another important space that has been completely remodeled is Star Camp, a program dedicated to the entertainment of children and young people with multicultural and educational activities, which now has a kitchen for Mini Chef activities and a Mini Cinema with a giant screen. This place also has new furniture and even a video game installation.

As the main novelty, the hotel includes the installation of high technology in the rooms, such as Chromecast, USB sockets, new reading lamps and a modern key system connected to the bracelets and phones of customers through QR codes. In addition to the renovation of the bathrooms and
furniture, which has enabled some rooms to be upgraded, the Los Arcos theater has also incorporated technology for the projection (mapping) of the new shows.

The refurbishment has been carried out following Iberostar’s sustainability criteria and in line with the demanding objectives of its Agenda 2030, which are divided between the three areas of action: moving towards a circular economy model, promoting responsible consumption of fish and seafood, and improving the coastal health of all the ecosystems surrounding its facilities. To this end, it has created the 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) department in all its hotels and continues to move towards becoming waste-free by 2025 and carbon footprint neutral by 2030.

The renovation comes on the heels of the recent announcement of a long-term commercial agreement between Iberostar and IHG Hotels & Resorts to add up to 70 of its beachfront resorts to the IHG system under the Iberostar Beachfront Resorts brand, the 18th brand for IHG. Iberostar’s portfolio of properties will have access to IHG’s enterprise platform, including its distribution channels and the IHG One Rewards loyalty program with more than 100 million members.

Tour Operator Recognition

During the presentation event of the hotel’s renovation, Iberostar Beachfront Resorts took the opportunity to welcome the year 2023 by organizing a dinner to recognize the tour operators for their support in the past year and for their loyalty in the hotel’s sales.

At the event, recognition was given to the tour operator Schauinsland of Germany for achieving the highest production for the Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus hotel in the year 2022. The second prize went to the Iberostar Group’s W2M tour operator and the third award went to the tour operator Ola Tours of Argentina.
