The La Quinta by Wyndham hotel is the new international brand that will arrive in Puerto Plata to bring 115 new rooms to the destination on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, immediately creating 200 new direct jobs during its construction phase.
This was announced by businessman Edward De Valle, CEO of Grupo De Valle, exclusive owner of the La Quinta franchise along with other brands by Wyndham in the country, during the ANATO 2024 tourism fair.
“What better scenario to announce the construction of our hotel La Quinta Puerto Plata, in this fair La Vitrina de ANATO, where the Dominican Republic dedicates its participation to the destination that saw the birth of tourism in that beautiful Caribbean island,” said De Valle.
He recalled that with the 2024 opening, the La Quinta by Wyndham brand will arrive in the country.
He explained that “the hotel will feature a lobby bar, a restaurant, co-working and meeting spaces, a well-equipped wellness center and a swimming pool.”
“We are here at ANATO as a way of supporting Puerto Plata and taking into account that Colombia has become one of the main outbound destinations for tourists to the 
Dominican Republic after the United States and Canada,” he said.
He understands that this is a very special moment since Wyndham Rewards, the award-winning loyalty program, has more than 106 million members looking for new destinations in the Caribbean islands.
“These 106 million Wyndham Rewards members have full confidence in the 24 brands by Wyndham and recognize La Quinta for its more than 900 hotels in the United States and Canada,” he added.
De Valle recalled that the United States contributed more than 47% of the tourists who visited “this beautiful Caribbean island”.
He informed that La Quinta Puerto Plata has joined La Quinta San Francisco de Macorís, which is currently under construction.
In addition, the businessman highlighted the good investment climate that exists in the Dominican Republic and the good work being done by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, together with the private sector.
