Margaritaville Island Reserve to be enjoyed in the DR this year

It will be in October 2021 when a hotel full of exclusivity, which enjoys a five-star rating, will be formally opened. Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana is brought to you by Karisma Hotels & Resorts, the award-winning collection of properties spanning Latin America, the Caribbean and Mexico, and Margaritaville, the global lifestyle brand synonymous with fun and escapism.

It is the second resort for the Island Reserve brand created in partnership with Karisma and Margaritaville – and the first in the Dominican Republic. The new construction combines the amenities of a world-class, all-inclusive resort with Margaritaville’s signature lifestyle. Reservations open today with an inaugural rate starting at $209 per person per night.

“After launching the Island Reserve concept in Riviera Maya, we are thrilled to continue our partnership with Margaritaville to bring this lifestyle to the Dominican Republic in a way that truly captures Cap Cana as a destination,” mentioned Mario Mathieu, senior vice president of Business Development, Design and Construction at Karisma Hotels & Resorts. “Cap Cana is the ideal setting for the new addition to the portfolio, which truly represents the relaxing escapism that is synonymous with the brand.

The partnership with Karisma has been fruitful for Margaritaville as it expands its presence in the Caribbean. “We are thrilled to introduce Island Reserve Margaritaville to Cap Cana and the Dominican Republic, one of the most breathtaking beaches in the world,” maintained John Cohlan, CEO of Margaritaville. “Our continued successful partnership with Karisma offers the ultimate island experience: relaxation, fun, exceptional dining, world-class service and quality entertainment, all experienced in the Margaritaville state of mind.”

Seaside setting

Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana is located on stunning Juanillo Beach, known worldwide for its miles of white sand beaches, turquoise waters and idyllic sunsets. Located just 15 minutes from the Punta Cana International Airport, Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana will feature 228 suites and 40 villas designed with elements inspired by the destination’s coastal environment to transport guests to a carefree state of mind…a la Margaritaville. The “carefree” experience is complemented by an unparalleled level of service provided by local Island Ambassadors at the resort who attend to guests’ every need, plus rooms equipped with modern amenities such as personalized in-room refreshment centers with gifts from Joe Merchant and access to Karisma’s Island Reserve Inclusive®, 24-hour in-room dining service.

Guests will have 13 deluxe room types to choose from, including swim-up suites and honeymoon suites, as well as exclusive signature villas. The Jimmy Buffett Suite offers breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea from the top floor of the main building, with ample indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces, including a 300-square-foot furnished terrace and a custom-built grill for enjoying private dining.

The upcoming opening of the resort is also expected to have a significant impact on the local tourism industry in the Dominican Republic, bringing much-needed economic growth in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It has been a privilege to work in partnership with Karisma Hotels & Resorts to bring the famous Margaritaville Island Reserve brand to life in Cap Cana,” added Jesus Barderas, president of Cobbo Bay Developers SA, based in the Dominican Republic. “I want to witness the positive economic impact this resort will have on the local hotel industry and the Dominican Republic as a whole.”
