Latitud 18 will create more than 300 new jobs.
RCD Hotels inaugurated this Wednesday the new Latitud 18 project and the Santo Domingo Marriott Piantini & Aloft Santo Domingo Piantini hotels, located on Abraham Lincoln Avenue, on the corner of Andres Julio Aybar.
The event was attended by President Luis Abinader, important national and international personalities from the tourism and business sectors, and the main executives of Marriott International.
According to a press release from the hotel chain, the new hotels, located in the Piantini sector of the city of Santo Domingo, reinforce the commitment to strategic expansion in high-growth markets, which continue to boom for local and international tourism.
Mr. Roberto Chapur, CEO of RCD Hotels, noted that they are excited to celebrate the expansion and opening of these hotel brands, as well as the gastronomic center, in one of the most “cosmopolitan” destinations in the Caribbean.
The Mexican hotel businessman highlighted that Latitud 18 is characterized by the high level of hospitality and gastronomy, through its restaurants, among them, Cueva Siete with contemporary Mexican food and Makoto, an “internationally” recognized brand of modern Japanese food. He expressed that “this is a country known for its fascinating culture, where the ancient and the modern have merged to perfection”.
Chapur informed that Latitud 18 will generate more than 300 new jobs. He also noted that the project has 400 rooms and 5 restaurants, offering a wide range of options.

He also assured that this investment will strengthen executive tourism in the country, as the Dominican Republic is a destination known for its geographic and cultural diversity. Therefore, “Santo Domingo stands out as a city full of life and as the first European settlement on the American continent”.
After highlighting the benefits of Aloft, Yudith García, representative of Marriott International in the Dominican Republic, indicated that it offers “vibrant” and “eclectic” spaces for music lovers and creators, being a brand known for its emphasis on innovative music programming through its Live at Aloft platform.
García also presented the Santo Domingo Marriott Piantini hotel; a hotel that, according to the executive, is the flagship brand of the Marriott International portfolio, as “synonymous” with the art of hospitality around the world, which comes to the island to innovate at every opportunity and maintaining the comfort of the familiar around the world.
Yudith García concluded her participation by mentioning that both brands combine a distinctive service with a comfortable design, allowing them to meet the needs of each guest.
