The hotel to be managed by Inclusive Collection Part of World of Hyatt, of approximately 520 rooms and which will possibly operate under the Secrets brand in Cabo Rojo, Pedernales, is already working on the construction of its model room.
This was informed by Hugo Pérez Ovalles, president of Grupo Therrestra, the company awarded the contract for the construction of the project, who also said that the “skeleton” of the hotel is almost completely finished and “soon we will be in completion”.
“The work is going well, we have definitions, plans, drawings… The model rooms are being made with everything that would be included so that it can be an example and thus determine if it is what is wanted in the end to offer to the public or not”, he added.
The hotel, the second to be put into operation after the one to be managed by Iberostar, is being developed jointly with Estel Ingeniería (Therrestra-Estel). Between the two hotels, an investment of 240 million dollars is estimated.
Ovalles indicated that the development of the southern zone of the country is a vision that the government has for Pedernales and it is very big. “With the port, the airport, the hotels, roads, the treatment plant, the aqueduct. That is to say, it is a complete plan that must be seen, since everything is executed at the same time. The truth is that it is a pleasure to see what is happening there in terms of development. Everything is well designed”.
Regarding the works being carried out in the area, he said that Pedernales has everything it needs to be a world tourist attraction, since the destination is being created and that is why it is being built from scratch. Everything well done.
