Nicole Peña-Comas presents “El canto del cisne negro” (The Black Swan’s Song), her new production

Dominican cellist Nicole Peña-Comas presented “El canto del cisne negro”, a compilation of Latin American classical works, which represents her first solo production, according to a press release issued Thursday.

The album was recorded under the auspices of the German record label ARS Production and in it “the artist is accompanied on the piano by maestro Hugo Llanos Campos and both perform a musical journey through the works of renowned composers”, adds the note, which includes details of the presentation of the production in the Aida Bonelly de Díaz hall of the Eduardo Brito National Theater.

“El canto del cisne negro is a compilation of Latin American classical works originally composed for cello and piano, which are still unknown to both cellists and the general public,” said the artist.

Peña-Comas is a graduate of the Elina Mena Elementary School of Music and the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts.

As a soloist she has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, the National Youth Symphony Orchestra in the Dominican Republic, and the Concentus 21 Orchestra in Vienna.

She has performed in Germany, Austria, Belgium, China, Croatia, Spain, England, Italy, the Czech Republic and the Dominican Republic, among others.
