The young Venezuelan singer will perform this Saturday July 27 and Sunday July 28 at the Jay Wheeler concert at the Volleyball Pavilion of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.
“Tattooed ballads” is how Noreh defines his musical style. The Venezuelan artist who achieved international recognition after his first collaboration with Jay Wheeler, “Lugar seguro”, explained in an interview with LISTÍN DIARIO that his songs are romantic, but with a touch of explicit lyrics that make up his identity as an artist, having influences of trap and bolero.
Regarding his visit to Santo Domingo to perform in the two functions that the Puerto Rican artist has, this Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July at the Volleyball Pavilion of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, Noreh confessed that he wants to compose an upcoming song during his stay in the country.
“I feel that everything has been very symbolic, I felt a connection with the country, especially with all of you who have been supporting me and I really want to create, to make a lot of music, I think that today when I get to the hotel I will surely sit down to write something new,” said Noreh.
Noreh has heard the testimonies of his colleagues Jay Wheeler and Nacho about the importance of the Dominican Republic in their lives and careers, which is why he also longs to experience and take the same of this land to his native Venezuela, although since his first visit he has cultivated good fruits, since he had the opportunity to be part of the tribute to Chyno & Nacho on July 11 at Premios Heat, in Punta Cana.
“To be honest, we were in Miami recording some content, he (Jay Wheeler) and I, and he tells me: ‘You’re invited for the whole tour, but especially invited to Dominican Republic’. He tells me that he has a connection and, he saw it, he told me that the people here will appreciate me,” Noreh said.
“Already listening to those experiences, at some point, made me understand that there is something very valuable here,” he added.
In addition to “Lugar seguro”, “Maquillaje” and “Multiverso”, a duet with Jay Wheeler, Noreh is also the author of “Bienvenida”, the song that Zhamira Zambrano, Jay’s wife, released last month to announce her pregnancy.
Since Jay Wheeler discovered him on TikTok, when he still didn’t have an American visa to enter Puerto Rico and sing at the Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot, he has been living his dream as a growing talent abroad. He was finally able to be in the United States and also in Europe.
An example of the power of the Internet
In spite of the strength that the new breed of artists is gradually acquiring in Venezuela, the music business in that nation is lagging behind due to the economic situation that affects it. In that sense, young musicians are anchored to Internet platforms that help them to expose their talent in a significant way. One such example is Noreh.
Noreh used to share videos with her guitar on her social networks until she got that message from Jay Wheeler asking her to record “Safe Place” together and through that same channel she got her signature at Universal Music.
“I thought he wanted it for himself, but I didn’t imagine it was to share it. I almost never upload personal stuff to my networks, I use them more for my music and it was my girlfriend who suggested I upload that video and that’s when I got the message from Jay,” said Noreh.
“Understanding the importance of social networks, beyond controversy, beyond gossip, they are an opportunity to make yourself known every day, to express yourself a lot. When I signed for the first time a few years ago with Universal, there they got me through Instagram given previews of my songs and compositions, every day, then I learned constancy in that aspect,” he added.
Noreh is currently promoting his single “Aguas profundas” and is touring with Jay Wheeler until December to later prepare his next album.
