Dominican Republic makes its promotion in India

By participating to travel and tourism trade exhibition

By participating in South Asia’s leading B2B travel and tourism trade exhibition (SATTE) the Dominican Republic made its first marketing and promotional foray in India, especially the wedding and family travel segments.

According to the Dominican ambassador to India, Hans Dannenberg Castellanos, the country is already a favorite wedding destination for Indian families settled in the United States and Canada.

“We wanted to expose the destination to the Indian market as well and also want to engage the Indian travel trade”, he explained.

In order to coordinate the promotional activities in India, the embassy in Delhi, has appointed a dedicated official who will take care of promotional brochures in different Indian languages.

Dannenberg said there has been a tremendous growth in trade and business between the two countries since the Dominican Republic set up Embassy in Delhi. Several Indian companies like Wipro, TCS, etc., have set up their call centers in the island, while nearly 3,000 Indians visited the country last year.
