President Abinader begins construction of 129 Grupo Lifestyle villas in Puerto Plata

President Luis Abinader gave the first kick-off on Sunday for the construction of The Royal Lake Village by Lifestyle project, which will have a millionaire investment and will generate 300 new direct jobs and another 900 indirect jobs.

The new offer of the Lifestyle Group is a sustainable residential tourism project (eco-friendly type), which will be composed of 129 villas of 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms.

The president of Grupo Lifestyle, Markus Wischenbart, thanked the president and the government for the support received in the pandemic in the hotel sector, while highlighting “the effort and excellent work done in order to mitigate the consequences of COVID-19”, in addition, he commented that the new project will attract thousands of new tourists a year to the important destination of Puerto Plata, which will lead to a significant economic movement in the whole area.

“The opening of this new project is yet another demonstration of our confidence in the full recovery of Dominican tourism, of the good investment climate that exists and that we continue to bet on the destination of Puerto Plata,” said the businessman in a speech.

He also highlighted the effort made by the government and the private sector to achieve the responsible recovery of tourism in the Dominican Republic.

He said that in the case of the Lifestyle Group, an average occupancy rate of more than sixty percent has been registered in the first six months of this year and that in July alone it reached 80 percent.

Another sign of the recovery, said Wischenbart, is that it currently has 2,500 direct jobs and another five thousand indirect jobs.

The Administrative Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, highlighted the importance of this new investment in the development of tourism on the north coast.

“This investment by the Lifestyle Group is one more encouragement for this destination and a bet on the bright future that we have been building for our country,” said Paliza in a speech.

He recalled that the Lifestyle Group has become the main employer in Puerto Plata and one of the most important in the entire northern region.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, President Abinader was accompanied by Paliza, Senator Ginnette Bournigal and the governor of Puerto Plata, Claritza Rochtte Peralta, among other officials.

About the Project

The Royal Lake Village by Lifestyle Project is a sustainable residential tourism project (eco-friendly type), which is planned to be developed on a surface area of approximately 92,000 square meters, which will be composed of 129 villas of 2, 3, and 4 bedrooms, whose construction measures range from 110 to 190 square meters. The project includes restaurants, theme bars, lake lounge, spa with sauna and Jacuzzi, beauty salon, gym, swimming pools, snack bar, playground, locker building, golf cart parking, laundry, recreation and sports areas.

The concept is based on the tourist niche that aims at a vacation of physical and mental well-being, seeking a space for the relaxation of those who visit it.

The landscaping of the area is based on a balance between luxury and respect for the surrounding nature, with natural park trails for jogging, meditation and yoga areas, surrounded by trees and lagoons that form a unique set, with the basic idea of human interaction with the environment.

“The luxurious project, with all its amenities, will attract thousands of new tourists a year to the important destination of Puerto Plata, which will bring significant economic movement to the entire area,” a press release said.
