The team from La Romana (8-3) defeated the Soles de Santo Domingo Este 86-85 for their sixth win in a row with 20 points from Rainer Santana and a double-double from Yeison Colomé of 18 points and 10 rebounds in their Wednesday night game. In the loss, Luis Martínez Ogando finished with 19 points.
The Cañeros lead the standings with a one-game lead over the Reales de La Vega (7-4), who with the loss of Soles also clinched their place in the second stage of the season.
