The Dominican Republic’s mission leadership that will take part in the First Caribbean Games to be held in Guadeloupe, will leave next June 26.
The information was announced by the technical director of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), Juan Febles, during the meeting with the sports federations that will take part in the multi-sport event.
Franklin de la Cruz, head of mission, as well as Miguel Merejo, technical manager, and José Potter, in charge of accommodation, while the program also states that the medical delegation will leave on June 28.
The first athletic delegation, corresponding to the 3×3 basketball team and the track and field team, will leave for Guadalupe on June 29.
The First Caribbean Games of Guadeloupe will be held from June 29 to July 3 and the Dominican Republic will participate in five sports.
The meeting was held to advance plans with the national sports federations that will participate in the event.
The meeting, which took place in the meeting room Juan Ulises García Saleta of the COD, was attended by representatives of the five registered sports, as well as a delegation of the medical team that will travel to Guadeloupe.
The meeting was headed by the secretary general of the COD, Gilberto García, who suggested to those present to help the athletes who will go to the Caribbean Games to keep themselves in the best conditions.
“Part of your work is that our athletes are in the best conditions physically and mentally before their departure to the French island,” Garcia said when referring to the leaders.
The secretary added that he expects the national delegation to represent the Dominican flag with dignity in the multi-sport event.
García was accompanied by the technical director of the COD, Juan Antonio Febles, as well as the technical director of the games, Miguel Merejo.
Antonio Febles emphasized that after this meeting, the head of mission will send a communiqué to the organizing committee of the games with the total list of the members of the delegation.
