Delivery of new sports facilities in Santiago and Espaillat

Vice-president Raquel Peña headed this Thursday the reinauguration of the Sameji sports center, in Santiago, and the construction of the Dolores Luna (Mamá Lola) Club, in the municipality of Juan López, in the province of Espaillat.

Peña went to the Sameji sports center to hand it over in optimal conditions, as ordered by President Luis Abinader, and was accompanied by the Minister of Sports and Recreation (Miderec), Francisco Camacho, and by sports and civil authorities. The officials agreed that President Luis Abinader is working to provide recreational spaces where they can develop their maximum potential.

The refurbishment of the sports center and the construction of the club were carried out by the Ministry of Sports at a cost of 22 million pesos.

The vice president said that with each sports facility that has been inaugurated, rehabilitated or refurbished in the administration of President Luis Abinader, it is guaranteed that all communities have valuable opportunities for development and welfare, especially for young people.

“Each court, sports center and stadium built or improved is an investment in the future of our youth and, therefore, in the future of the country,” said Raquel Peña.

On his side, Minister Francisco Camacho assured that the facilities were totally renovated, repaired or built to last for many years, due to the quality of the work done on them.

The official stressed that these facilities also impact the entire community of the sectors and neighborhoods where these clubs are located.
