Dominican Republic wins appeal and will be in the mixed relay final

The president of the Dominican Athletics Federation, Gerardo Suero Correa, informed that the Dominican Republic won the appeal on the 4X400 mixed prelims race of the athletics tournament of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The Dominican mixed quartet formed by Luguelín Santos, Marileidy Paulino, Fiordaliza Cofil and Lidio Ogando, will be in the final after winning the appeal and this is reflected on the website of the games.

The United States team, which had also been disqualified, won its appeal and will compete for the medals.

These quartets are joined by Belgium with the third fastest time in that heat.

The final is scheduled for Saturday at 8:53 a.m. Dominican time.
