DR Figure Skating shines at Pan American Championships

The participation of the Dominican skaters was under the direction of coordinators Nairym Hernández, Ramón de la Cruz and their coach Alison Pinzón.

The Dominican Republic’s figure skating team won six medals, five silver and one bronze, at the Pan American Club Championship held in Ibagué, Colombia.

The event gathered more than seven thousand athletes who also competed in speed skating and inline field hockey.

The activity is part of the events of the Skate Awards, promoted by Skate Media, according to the CEOs Víctor Fernández and Stella Garcés and added that the main objective is to promote skating in the Dominican Republic.

Among the Creole skaters who deserved medals for their performance are Fabiola Pacheco in the Novice A Espoir 2011 category; in the free modality; Jenny Nayet Álvarez; Novice C Tost 2015 category, free modality and Miranda Martínez in the Novice C Espoir 2011 Category, in the Free modality.

Also Flavia Agüero; in the category Novice C Espoir 2011, free modality and Angelique Merrow; in the category Minis Novice-B 2013, Free modality, occupying the eighth position out of 33; in the category Senior Basic Ladies, Dance Only and Free modality, Alizon Pinzón, took the bronze medal.
