The Dominican Republic had an outstanding participation in the recently concluded Olympic Games in Paris, where they advanced to the quarterfinals, losing to Brazil in their attempt to reach the semifinal round.
The Dominican Republic Women’s Volleyball Team (Las Reinas del Caribe) will debut on the 18th of this month against Peru in the beginning of Group A of the XXI Pan American Women’s Volleyball Cup, organized by the North-Central American and Caribbean Confederation and the Pan American Union.
That match is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. local time (4:00 p.m. Dominican time) in the city of Leon, where this group will be played.
The following day, on the 19th, the two-time Pan American champions will face the host team, Mexico, at 8:00 p.m. local time (10:00 p.m. Dominican time).
On the 20th, the six-time consecutive Central American and Caribbean champions will face Suriname at 2:00 p.m. local time (4:00 p.m. Dominican time).
On the 21st, the Creoles will play against Colombia at 5:00 p.m. local time (7:00 p.m. Dominican time).
The last game of the preliminary round of Group A will be against Canada at 4:00 p.m. local time (6:00 p.m. Dominican time).
Group B, to be played in the city of Irapuato, will feature the sextets of the United States, Argentina, Costa Rica, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Chile.
