With the Punta Cana Triathlon 2023 to be held on May 13 and 14 at VISTACANA, the Dominican Republic is preparing to host for the second time the international events: the Continental Triathlon Cup and the Central American and Caribbean Championship.
Through an agreement, the Dominican Triathlon Federation (Fedotri) and the Pan American Triathlon Confederation (Patco), granted the Making Waves Academy and Vistacana the rights for the assembly and execution of the international competitions, within the framework of the second edition of the Punta Cana Triathlon 2023, a leading event in the region that promotes sports tourism at world standards.
The agreement was signed by Franklin de la Cruz, president of Fedotri; Eduardo Jesús Briceño Rosas, general director of Making Waves and organizer of the event; and Corina Termini, commercial director of Vistacana.
In the framework of a press conference, they announced details of the sporting competitions to be held during two days, with which athletes from all parts of Latin America, North America and the different continents, will be able to compete in the categories: Sprint, Super Sprint and Olympic, in a closed and avant-garde circuit in the facilities of the Vistacana complex.
The Continental Triathlon Cup and Central American and Caribbean Championship will allow participating athletes to qualify for places in the Junior World Championship, earn points for the Paris 2023 Olympic Games and qualify for the Masters World Championship to be held this year.
